Meet at Forks of Salmon Post Office in Siskiyou County. Ride starts almost promptly at 8:00 a.m. The route follows the North Fork Salmon River along Sawyer's Bar Road to Etna Summit and back down into Scott's Valley. Most riders like to stop at Etna Brewery for lunch, which is a little over forty miles into the ride. From there we turn right on Highway 3 to Callahan and right again on Callahan/Cecilville road all the way back to Forks of Salmon Post Office.
The ride is about 100 miles long with about 10,000 feet of climbing. Almost all of the pavement is in excellent condition; skinny tires work well. There will be a SAG wagon to carry food, water, and other stuff you don't want to load on your bicycle. Know your limitations and be prepared.
Camping for riders, spectators and volunteers Friday and Saturday at Nordheimer Campground. Potluck dinner and party Saturday night after the ride. Musically inclined folks are encouraged to bring their instruments to play around the campfire (if fires are permitted). THERE IS NO POTABLE WATER AT THIS CAMPGROUND, come prepared please.
