Boynton Ranch Trail Work Day

  • Ferndale, California, 95536 United States (map)

RCMBA recently signed a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the LD O'Rourke Foundation providing us with the opportunity to build trails on their 3,000 acre property. Join us for our very first ever trail work day at what will become the Boynton Ranch Trail System above Ferndale! We’re hoping to get a small trail system built up by Spring 2027 so that we can open these trails up to our members. Per our MOU, the trail system will only be open for riding May to September.

We'll be working on the very first trail, which will be a blue level trail. Most of the work will be raking, benching, and pulling out ferns.

The parking for the trail system is located approximateliy 4 miles up Wildcat/Mattole Road (click here for a Google map location). If folks would like to come early and meet at Minds Eye Coffee at 9:30AM, people can grab a great cup of coffee and then caravan up the hill to the parking area. Please bring snacks, water, and sturdy boots to work in.

We hope to see you there and help make another trail system come to life! Please note: there is very little to no cell phone reception at the trail location.
